Why I wouldn't bring my baby to a photo studio?

I wouldn't bring my baby to a photo studio...
The answer for me is simple. It is to do with the environment of the typical (in some ways old fashioned) photography studio. A lot of these studios have flash lights, lots of equipment, backdrops, which is not necessarily a natural and usual environment for a small baby. It might take longer for them to get used to this new space and new surroundings. Hence, it can be a little bit harder to catch natural and real emotions of your baby (if this is what you're after). You won't get an immediate sense of cosiness and comfort from these photo studios, that's exactly why I wouldn't bring my baby to a photo studio to get her photos done.
Nowadays, there are other alternatives to studio photoshoots where you can still receive amazing results- home studios or a travelling photographer (photographer coming to your home). I think both of these options are perfect if you are after a more natural photography!
I have a home studio in North Shields (North East of England), where I welcome little babies and their parents. My studio is small, but light and cosy! I have a variety of soft and wooden toys for your baby to play with and a wardrobe to pick some outfits from. My photoshoots feel more like play sessions, where I follow a lead of your baby, engage and interact with them. As their attention span is short and they can get tired quickly, I try to capture as many movements, emotions and details as possible in a first half an hour of the session. But every baby is different and if yours needs a bit more time to adapt/ cuddle or nurse, it's absolutely fine and we will take as much time as necessary to get these amazing images!
